I discovered Steve Costello, an interior designer and photographer through Desire to Inspire. I absolutely adore his photography. His photographs warm my heart, awaken memories and create a yearning to be in them. eNJOY.


The left shot of the art supplies is my favorite of the bunch. The colors and messiness of the supplies against the rough wood grain of the little cabin. The horse watercolor is gorgeous too. I'm jealous of this girl and her wonderful painting atmosphere.

Art in Sushi

Adam has recently introduced me to sushi and I've fallen in love. I'm a big fan of the taste but I've fallen more for it's artful dining experience. Sushi a work of art as much as it is food -- look how pretty!

William McDonough: The wisdom of designing Cradle to Cradle

Architect and designer William McDonough explains his philosophy of "cradle to cradle" design, which bridges the needs of ecology and economics. He brings up some interesting thoughts like these:

Talking about the power and elegance of trees.
"Designers --imagine this assignment.
Design something that:
makes oxygen
sequesters carbon
fixes nitrogen
creates micro-climates
distills water
makes complex sugars in food
changes colors with the seasons
&
self replicates!
Why don't we knock that down and write on it?"

Why we need humble design:
"It took us 5000 years to put wheels on our suitcases!"
