This commercial was created for a cell phone made from wood and was shot in a forest in Japan where they made a GIANT xylophone from already fallen trees in the forest. The xylophone plays Bach's Cantata 147 . . . what a lovely piece of art. I can hardly handle it.

Home Office DESIRE
Recently, I've been really eager for a home office/design studio. I don't have room in my current apartment but it WILL be a definite in the next place I live. It will be so nice to have a place to hide and organize my bills (and other boring stuff) and decorate with my inspirations, art, textiles, and maybe an Eames desk chair?! yes please.

MISUSE blog
This blog kind of reminds me of the FAIL blog except it captures the genius of creative problem solvers that use various objects for purposes other than its own. Some of them are pretty ridiculous (okay most of them are) but the smart ones remind me of A: My dad. He's always "making things work" with whatever he can find. I'm proud to say I get this trait from him. B: ID school and the crazy things people would drag into the studio. Seriously, this is how we think.

Thankful List (Day 7)
My far-away friends I've actually gotten to hang out with recently! None of these pictures actually represent our recent reunions because my camera is broken :(
22. Erika & Kayla: Erika lives in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Katrina & I picked the perfect 5 days to get out of Minnesota and head for the beaches & sun of FL. It was SUCH a great HS reunion. Erika is my crazy good singer, fun loving, organized and (very) talkative friend. Kayla lives in Denver, Colorado. She came home (in true Kayla style) without much of a heads up and we spur the moment met for lunch, updated each other on our lives, families, and latest HS gossip. Kayla was practically my adjoined twin for years. We went everywhere & did everything together. Now if only I could get a job in Denver.
23. Katrina: She is a BUSY girl but we finally got more than a few hours at a coffee shop together. Katrina ALWAYS makes me laugh, she's thoughtful beyond belief, and she has the biggest passion for science & health care.
24. Whitney: She's home for the holiday...(her boyfriend Matt in tow). They live in Boston, MA and flew in on Saturday. Kara and I met them for dinner, drinks, and bowling in uptown. It turned into an icy, cold night that left us stranded at Kara's (who, btw is the best hostess ever) we snuggled in bed & made breakfast in the AM. Whitney is the probably the wittiest person I know, she's usually up for anything, and she is super spontaneous --(maybe why we get along so well?)

15. Bonfires! This one must have been made by my mom . . . who knows why?!
16. Thankful that this year I am NOT spending my entire thanksgiving break working & stressing over my senior project. I am only smiling in this picture because it was almost done.
17. Cross-Country Skiing: I joined the team my sophomore year of high school -- feLL in LOVE -- and can't wait to get out again this year. BRING ON the SNOW!

Thankful List (Day 4)
10. Coffee & Chocolate . . . no need to say more.
11. My big sisi gretchie! I love her, I miss her & I look up to her. "When I get big, i'mna ride on the bus with dretchen to scooL!"
12. Initiation at work: If you're new, we might scare you with . . . dun, dUN, DUN, "INITIATION," but it's really just another game we play. The picture really represents more than initiation -- I'm thankful for my job, my co-workers, the friendships I've made, the games we play, the fun we have, and ALL the free FOOD we eat!
13. My sister's typical request that has now become the family picture norm -- siLLy faces. I love the fun we have while taking these pictures but I'm really thankful for these people: my sister, mom, and grandma.
